United Nations Development Program UNDP-Pakistan and UNDP-Somalia organized a seven-day Somalia-Pakistan Ministerial Study Tour on Federalism, Devolution, and State-Building from December 20 to 27, 2022.

The delegation was briefed about election mechanism in Pakistan and Committee of Common interest between the provinces in Pakistan. There had been discussions about the fiscal revenue/financial commission, fight against anti-state terrorisms and security in the borders.

Take away Points
 Establishment of Pak-Somalia friendship group within the Parliament of Pakistan, will nominate the group member within a week.
 To facilitate the emergency medical visas on urgent basis.
 Somalia – Pakistan to work on Sustainable development Goals (SDGs) in the parliament
 Promote Economic partnership between the two countries.

The delegates attended dinner hosted by different government officials of Pakistan Including the Minister of Planning and development and Chairman NADRA.
The team visited institutions in the government of Pakistan such as NADRA, PIPS, the National Assembly of Pakistan, and the election commission offices. They also attended a color cultural night organized by PNCA.

At the end of the tour the team paid courtesy visit to the Somali Embassy in Islamabad.
