Karachi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, visited forward posts in the Creeks Area to review operational preparedness and combat readiness of Pakistan Navy units stationed along the country’s southern maritime frontiers. The visit also marked a significant milestone in the Navy’s ongoing modernization efforts, as three state-of-the-art 2400 TD Hovercraft were formally inducted into the Pakistan Marines.

The newly acquired hovercraft represent a major leap in the Navy’s amphibious and littoral warfare capabilities. Designed for multi-terrain operations, the platforms can seamlessly operate across shallow waters, sandy stretches, marshlands, and other challenging coastal terrains—zones where conventional naval craft cannot function effectively.

This enhanced operational flexibility is expected to augment the Marines’ rapid response and mobility, especially in the strategically sensitive Creeks region.

Addressing officers and personnel during the visit, Admiral Ashraf underscored the significance of the new induction as part of the Navy’s broader vision for technological advancement and self-reliance.

“The addition of these modern platforms symbolizes Pakistan Navy’s commitment to modernize and strengthen the defence of our maritime frontiers and coastal belt, particularly the Creeks Area,” he said.

The Naval Chief further highlighted the critical role of maritime security in Pakistan’s national interests. He emphasized that Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) are not merely strategic pathways but lifelines for the country’s economy.

“Maritime security is not just a military requirement—it is a cornerstone of our sovereignty and a vital pillar of economic prosperity and stability,” Admiral Ashraf remarked.

“Pakistan Navy stands as the vanguard of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region and remains a key stakeholder in regional maritime security.”

Reaffirming the Navy’s resolve, Admiral Ashraf stated confidently:

“We know how to defend our sovereignty and every inch of our maritime frontiers—from Sir Creek to Jiwani.”

He concluded by assuring the nation that Pakistan Navy’s defence capabilities remain robust, anchored in professionalism, technological advancement, and unshakable morale.

“Our strength at sea mirrors our resolve on land—the spirit of an unyielding nation guarding its blue frontiers.”
