Deputy Speaker NA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah Highlights Deep-rooted Pakistan–Azerbaijan Ties at Book Launch Ceremony

Islamabad; The National Assembly of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan, hosted the launching ceremony of the book “The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor” at the Parliament House today. Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Mr. Khazar Farhadov; the Ambassador of Türkiye, Mr. Irfan Neziroglu; Federal Ministers Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan, and Mr. Attaullah Tarar; Members of the Pak–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group; Convenor of the Parliamentary Taskforce on SDGs, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz; Parliamentary Secretary for Info & Broadcasting, Mr. Danyal Chaudhary, MNAs Mr. Fatehullah Khan, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Mr. Pullain Baloch & Mr. Muhammad Hafeez; foreign dignitaries; and senior officials of the National Assembly Secretariat.


Ambassador Khazar Farhadov said that the book presents a comprehensive account of Azerbaijan’s glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. He highlighted that the book vividly portrays the historic and dynamic leadership role of President Ilham Aliyev, whose vision and determination led Azerbaijan to success. He further stated that as a result of this war, the Nagorno-Karabakh region was liberated after decades of occupation. While expressing gratitude, he said that Pakistan and Türkiye extended unwavering support to Azerbaijan during the conflict. He added that the leadership and people of Azerbaijan hold deep affection and profound respect for Pakistan in their hearts. He also presented the Urdu edition of the book to the Deputy Speaker, National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah.

Ambassador İrfan Neziroğlu, said that the relations between Pakistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan are a true reflection of brotherhood, solidarity, and shared values. He noted that the three brotherly nations have always stood by each other in times of difficulty and have demonstrated unwavering unity on every occasion. Ambassador Neziroğlu emphasized that Pakistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan share common positions on regional and global issues and continue to cooperate closely for peace, stability, and development. He reaffirmed that the three nations remain firmly committed to confronting every challenge with unity and mutual support.

In his address, Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah underscored the time-tested brotherhood and exemplary relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, founded on common faith, mutual respect, and shared cultural heritage. He said that the publication of “The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor”, translated into Urdu, was a testament to the growing cultural and linguistic cooperation between the two brotherly nations. He lauded the visionary leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, under whose guidance Azerbaijan has made remarkable strides in national development, economic progress, education, and diplomacy. He stated that President Aliyev’s leadership during the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020 stood as a symbol of courage, determination, and unity, inspiring generations across the Muslim world.

Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah observed that Pakistan deeply admires the bravery and resilience of the Azerbaijani nation, which has always stood firm in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan’s stance on all regional and international platforms, emphasizing that both countries share a common aspiration for peace, prosperity, and regional stability. Reflecting on the significance of the book, Deputy Speaker NA noted that literature serves as a powerful bridge connecting nations through shared history and values. He remarked that “Books are ambassadors of ideas; they connect hearts, preserve history, and inspire future generations.”

Deputy Speaker NA appreciated the Embassy of Azerbaijan for its continued efforts to strengthen parliamentary and cultural ties and expressed the hope that such initiatives would further deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations. He also commended the Pak–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group for its active role in promoting people-to-people exchanges and parliamentary diplomacy.

Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah reaffirmed the commitment of the Parliament of Pakistan to advancing bilateral collaboration with Azerbaijan in diverse fields, including education, culture, and trade. He expressed confidence that the unbreakable bond of faith, fraternity, and friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan would continue to flourish in the years ahead.
