Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott. The discussions focused on Pakistan-UK relations, security cooperation, and matters of mutual interest. The meeting also dealt with the return of Pakistanis staying illegally in the UK.
During the meeting, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi handed over the documents for the extradition of Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja to the British authorities and emphasized that both individuals are wanted in Pakistan and should be immediately handed over to Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that while Pakistan fully respects freedom of expression, fake news remains a challenge for every country. He said that no country can allow its citizens abroad to malign the state and its institutions. He welcomed British cooperation in returning those involved in anti-Pakistan propaganda.
The Ministry of Interior, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has also initiated the extradition process for both individuals. Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha and other relevant officials were present on the occasion.
