Rawalpindi — The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) today reported that Pakistani armed forces killed more than 200 Afghan Taliban and affiliated terrorists during precision strikes, raids and defensive operations carried out in response to an unprovoked overnight attack on Pakistani positions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
According to the ISPR statement, the offensive action targeted Taliban camps and posts, terrorist training facilities and support networks operating from Afghan territory. The operations destroyed multiple terrorist locations along the border, temporarily captured 21 hostile positions on the Afghan side, and rendered several terrorist training camps inoperative.
The ISPR said Pakistani losses during the clashes included 23 personnel martyred and 29 injured while defending the country’s territorial integrity. Credible intelligence and damage assessments, the statement added, estimate that over 200 Taliban and affiliated terrorists were neutralized and that the number of injured among militant ranks is “much higher.”
“Exercising the right of self‑defence, the alert Armed Forces of Pakistan repelled the assault decisively all along the border and inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban forces and affiliated Khwarjis. Precision fires and strikes, as well as physical raids were directed against Taliban camps and posts, terrorist training facilities and support networks operating from Afghan territory.”
“All possible measures were taken to avoid collateral damage and to protect civilian lives.”
The ISPR further described the infra‑structural damage to Taliban posts, camps, headquarters and support networks as extensive and spanning tactical to operational depth across border areas.
The military’s media wing reiterated Pakistan’s preference for constructive diplomacy and dialogue, while warning it will not tolerate the use of Afghan soil for hostility against Pakistan. The statement called on the Taliban government to take “immediate and verifiable actions to neutralize the terrorist groups, inter alia, FAK, FAH and ISKP/Daesh, operating from their territory,” and warned that Pakistan will continue to exercise its right to defend its people if such groups are not neutralized.
The ISPR also alleged that the recent attacks vindicate Pakistan’s longstanding position that the Taliban government is facilitating terrorist activities, and warned that any continued sponsorship of militant outfits — “in cohorts with India,” as stated in the release — aimed at destabilizing the region will be met by persistent Pakistani action until the menace is eliminated.
Regional Reactions
The escalation has drawn statements urging restraint and dialogue from regional states. The foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran publicly called for de‑escalation and diplomatic engagement, emphasizing the importance of reducing tensions for regional peace and stability.
Theatre and Context
According to the ISPR, the incidents began on the night of 11–12 October 2025, when Afghan Taliban elements and the India‑linked Fitna al‑Khawarij (FAK) launched attacks across multiple border points, including Angoor Adda, Bajaur and Kurram. Skirmishes were also reported in Dir, Chitral, Baramcha and other areas along the Durand Line.
“The Armed Forces of Pakistan remain ever ready to protect the territorial integrity, life and property of the people of Pakistan. Our resolve to defend Pakistan’s territorial integrity and to defeat those who threaten our security is unwavering,” the ISPR statement concluded.
