“Speaker of National Assembly Bars Statements Against Pakistan, Judiciary, and Armed Forces”

Lahore, Speaker oNational Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday visited the National College of Arts (NCA). On the occasion, the Speaker stated that statement against Judiciary, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, or on the role of judges would be never be allowed on the floor of the National Assembly.

He emphasized that any statement against the Armed Forces of Pakistan is unacceptable and clarified that only such discussions would be permitted which fall strictly within the constitutional and legal framework. The Speaker categorically stated that anyone speaking against Pakistan would not be allowed to express views in the National Assembly.

The Speaker said that he is neither part of the government nor the opposition, but as Speaker, he will perform his duties in an impartial manner in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly. He further stated that while protest is a democratic right of every citizen, it must remain peaceful. There is no room for arson, damage to life and property, or vandalism. He termed the use of sticks and weapons as alarming and said that such elements pose a serious threat to the rule of law.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that he holds regular consultations with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and that the Prime Minister has never restrained him from exercising his constitutional authority. He no one would be allowed to speak against Pakistan.

He further said that Pakistan’s economy is gradually strengthening which is clear evidence of economic stability. The Speaker noted that Pakistan enjoys strong and cordial relations with key friendly countries including the United States, China, Russia, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that every country has illegal elements, and combating them is a shared responsibility of both the state and the public in order to steer the country towards development and prosperity.

The Speaker stated that the National College of Arts is a prestigious institution of higher learning, which has established a unique identity at both national and international levels. He appreciated the research-based creative work of NCA students and said that the youth studying here are a valuable national asset, achieving remarkable success in various fields.
