Islamabad — Mr. Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, met with Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, at the Finance Division today to discuss ways of further deepening economic and trade relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed matters of mutual interest, placing particular emphasis on enhancing bilateral trade, commerce, and investment. Senator Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening ties with Turkmenistan, describing it as a “brotherly country” with which Pakistan enjoys a long history of cooperation. He noted that the past year had seen a series of high-level ministerial exchanges, reflecting the growing momentum in bilateral relations.
Ambassador Movlamov underscored Turkmenistan’s high regard for its partnership with Pakistan, highlighting its role not only as an important trading and investment partner but also as a vital transit hub for both bilateral and transnational trade. Discussions touched upon opportunities for joint ventures and collaboration in priority sectors such as energy, transportation, and construction.
On behalf of Mr. Mammetguly Astanagulov, Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Ambassador extended a formal invitation to Senator Aurangzeb to attend the Turkmenistan Investment Forum, scheduled for mid-September in Ashgabat. The event will coincide with celebrations marking the 34th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and is expected to gather regional and international stakeholders for high-level economic engagement.
