Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met Pakistani astronauts Khurram Daud and Muhammad Zeeshan Ali, who are set to participate in a human space mission. SPARCO astronaut attaché Hasnain Iftikhar was also present on the occasion.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch, and Chairman SPARCO Muhammad Yousaf Khan.
The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, also participated in the meeting.
The Prime Minister expressed great pleasure at meeting the young astronauts and the astronaut attaché. He said that their participation in space research is a major milestone for Pakistan and a matter of immense pride for the entire nation.
He expressed confidence that the astronauts are going to write a new chapter in Pakistan’s history. He praised their dedication and hard work, saying they had earned this prestigious position through relentless effort.
The Prime Minister further stated that, through Chinese collaboration, this space mission will add a new dimension to the brotherly relations between Pakistan and China. He added that the space cooperation between the two countries is elevating friendship to new heights, reaching toward the stars.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong welcomed the Prime Minister’s remarks and appreciated the growing cooperation between Pakistan and China in space research.
The astronauts stated that serving in space research for Pakistan is a matter of honor and a unique privilege. They expressed their determination to meet the nation’s expectations through hard work and dedication.
