Rawalpindi, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, along with Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief, held a meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters (GHQ, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on regional security dynamics and avenues for professional military cooperation. Both delegations underscored the importance of sustained engagement and collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Libya.
Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed the visiting dignitaries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He emphasized Pakistan’s continued support for peace, stability, and institutional development in Libya.
The ISPR stated that the meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries.
Earlier, upon arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Libyan military chief also paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada at GHQ.
