Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Syed Asim Munir, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he met Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud to discuss the evolving security situation in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two leaders reviewed the security challenges arising from reported drone and missile attacks attributed to Iran against the Kingdom.

The meeting focused on possible joint measures to address the situation within the framework of the strategic mutual defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Both sides expressed concern that such attacks could undermine ongoing efforts aimed at maintaining regional stability and security, stressing that escalation could reduce opportunities for a peaceful resolution of disputes.

During the talks, the two officials also emphasised the importance of restraint and dialogue. They expressed hope that Iran would exercise prudence to avoid further escalation and support efforts by friendly countries seeking a peaceful settlement of the crisis.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia maintain close defence and security cooperation, and the meeting reflects continued coordination between the two countries on regional security issues.
