Islamabad, Islamabad Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory and security plan for Eid-ul-Fitr, urging citizens to follow guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure safety and smooth movement during the festive days.
According to the police spokesperson, Lake View Park, Daman-e-Koh, and Shakarparian/Monument have been declared family-only parks for all three days of Eid. Entry of vehicles and motorcycles into these parks will be strictly prohibited, and only families will be allowed access.
Citizens have been requested to comply with the traffic advisory. Special teams of Islamabad Traffic Police will be deployed across the city to maintain traffic flow.
For further information, citizens can contact the traffic helpline at 1915 or Pukaar 15, and stay updated by listening to ITP FM 92.4.
Traffic Plan for Markets on Chand Raat
The Islamabad Traffic Police have also warned of heavy traffic congestion in major commercial areas on Chand Raat, including F-6 Markaz, F-7 Markaz, F-10 Markaz, Karachi Company, and I-8 Markaz, due to increased shopping activity.
To manage the expected rush, traffic diversions will be implemented at different times, and special police squads will be deployed in markets to guide citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow. Shoppers are advised to park their vehicles only in designated parking areas and seek assistance from traffic officials or help desks if needed.
Special Security Arrangements
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, comprehensive security and traffic arrangements have been finalized for Chand Raat and Eid days.
More than 7,000 police officers and personnel, along with volunteers, will perform duties across the city. Around 3,000 officers will be deployed for security at mosques, Imambargahs, and open Eid congregations.
Over 2,000 personnel will be assigned to ensure security at public places, parks, and graveyards, while more than 500 traffic police officers will be deployed on major roads to maintain traffic flow.
Special traffic arrangements have also been made for tourists traveling to and from Murree during the Eid holidays.
The IGP further stated that strict action will be taken against street crime, hooliganism, and aerial firing. Bicycle patrols will be conducted inside parks, and extensive patrolling through vehicles and motorcycles will be visible across all sectors of the city.
To safeguard homes of citizens traveling out of the city, police pickets have been established outside residential areas.
“Islamabad Police is committed to ensuring a peaceful environment so that citizens can celebrate Eid in a safe and enjoyable manner,” said the IGP.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate fully with police and follow all instructions to help maintain law and order during the festive period.
