Rawalpindi, The 276th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, reviewed the prevailing security situation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism, safeguarding national interests and maintaining regional stability.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum paid tribute to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians, terming their sacrifices the foundation of Pakistan’s security, unity and resilience.
The military leadership expressed concern over the alleged use of Afghan territory by Indian-sponsored militant groups, including Fitna al Khawarij (FAK) and Fitna al Hindustan (FAH), for attacks inside Pakistan, stressing that lasting regional peace depends on preventing the use of Afghan territory by such elements. The forum reiterated Pakistan’s right to defend its citizens and affirmed that intelligence-based operations under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq would continue.
Participants also emphasized the need for stronger governance structures in troubled areas to improve public welfare and dismantle networks facilitating terrorism and criminal activities.
The conference noted an increase in hybrid warfare and disinformation campaigns aimed at destabilizing Pakistan, particularly following what the forum described as the comprehensive success achieved in Mark-e-Haq. It condemned all forms of external support, financing and sponsorship of proxy groups, pledging a firm response to such threats.
Reviewing regional developments, the forum appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue, de-escalation and peaceful conflict resolution while reaffirming adherence to international law and regional cooperation.
The conference also discussed India’s statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty and reaffirmed support for the National Security Committee’s directives issued on April 24, 2025, underscoring Pakistan’s determination to secure its rightful share of water resources.
On Jammu and Kashmir, the forum condemned ongoing human rights violations and demographic changes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reiterating Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, political and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir directed commanders to expedite implementation of the armed forces’ multi-domain transformation plan and maintain the highest levels of vigilance, operational readiness and professional excellence to counter conventional, sub-conventional and hybrid threats.
