RAWALPINDI, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, accompanied by a delegation, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation and ways to further enhance bilateral defence and security cooperation.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding fraternal ties with Syria and shared Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability. He underscored the importance of cooperation and joint efforts to address common security challenges.
The visiting Syrian Foreign Minister appreciated the professional role of the Armed Forces of Pakistan in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen bilateral relations and expand mutual engagements in the fields of defence and security.
