ISLAMABAD, A 15-member cultural delegation from Bangladesh arrived in Islamabad on Friday for a four-day visit aimed at strengthening cultural ties and promoting artistic cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh after a gap of 30 years.
The delegation is headed by Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of Bangladesh, and was warmly received upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport.
The visit has been arranged at the invitation of the National Heritage & Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, as part of efforts to promote cultural diplomacy, foster mutual understanding and strengthen people-to-people connections between the two countries.
During its four-day stay, the delegation will participate in cultural performances and related activities scheduled for October 17 and 18 at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Lok Virsa. The programme will provide a platform for Pakistani and Bangladeshi artists and performers to showcase their cultural traditions, exchange artistic experiences and celebrate their shared cultural affinities.
The visit is expected to open new avenues for cultural exchanges, artistic collaboration and institutional cooperation, while providing opportunities for greater interaction between the cultural communities of the two countries.
The exchange underscores the importance of culture as a bridge between nations and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening friendly relations with Bangladesh through the promotion of arts, music and performing traditions.
