Parkent, Tashkent Region: A cultural and educational event titled *“The Epic of Gorogly in the Voices of Generations”* was held in the Kumushkon tourism village of Parkent district, Tashkent region, highlighting the rich heritage of traditional Uzbek oral literature and the enduring legacy of epic storytelling.

Folk traditions, particularly heroic epics, occupy a significant place in the cultural heritage of the Uzbek people and other Turkic and Persian-speaking communities. These literary treasures embody the aspirations, values, and collective wisdom of generations, often brought to life through the melodies of the dutar.
The epic of *Gorogly* is one of the prominent heroic narratives of the region, celebrating the ideals of justice, freedom, national prosperity, and self-sacrifice.
Guests attending the event received a traditional welcome from participants dressed as historical figures. They were presented with national robes and escorted to the venue alongside horsemen and performers portraying legendary heroes, creating an atmosphere inspired by the historical and cultural traditions of the region.
Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted that the art of bakhshi extends beyond the performance of epic poetry. Bakhshis play a vital role in preserving collective memory, transmitting ancestral wisdom to younger generations, and safeguarding national identity and spiritual values.
Classical epics such as *Alpomish, Kuntugmish,* and *Gorogly* convey enduring values, including honor, dignity, courage, loyalty, respect for family, love for the homeland, and the defense of the people’s honor.

Despite the passage of time, these traditional works continue to hold cultural and educational significance. The evening in Kumushkon offered a vibrant celebration of this heritage, reaffirming the importance of preserving and passing on the art of bakhshi storytelling to future generations.
