14th Meeting of Pakistan-Malaysia Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) was held in Rawalpindi.

Islamabad, The 14th Meeting of Pakistan-Malaysia Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) was held in Rawalpindi from 27-30 November 2023. Lt Gen (Retd) Hamood uz Zaman Khan, Secretary Defence led the Pakistani delegation at the JCDC meeting, the highest forum of defence collaboration between the two countries. H.E.Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Malaysia headed his country’s team.

Prior to formal talks, the Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Malaysia called on Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production. During both the calls on, matters of mutual interest came under discussion and both sides showed resolve to further strengthen defence cooperation.

During the JCDC meeting, both sides deliberated the issues relating to bilateral defence collaboration. The two sub committees of JCDC dealing respectively with Defence Industry and Military Training Cooperation reviewed the progress since the last meeting and discussed new avenues of collaboration in detail. It was agreed that cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia in all spheres of mutual interest particularly defence shall continue more vigorously by focusing on achieving the set targets.

During the course of JCDC, matters relating to defence cooperation, covering training, exchange visits and co-production of defence equipment were discussed. The Malaysian delegation also visited Defence Industrial Complexes at Wah & Taxila and National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP) in Rawalpindi.

Talks were held in a most cordial and congenial environment. Delegation leaders resolved to work together for enhanced cooperation in defence and security related fields. It was agreed that 15th Meeting of Pakistan-Malaysia JCDC will be held in Malaysia on mutually agreed dates in the Year 2024.
