2nd High-Level Meeting between Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and China Coast Guard.

Islamabad, In a landmark event, the 2nd High-Level Meeting (HLM) between the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and the China Coast Guard (CCG) was held on 24 April 2024 in Beijing, China. The meeting was co-chaired by Director General PMSA Rear Admiral Imtiaz Ali SI(M) T.Bt & BAR and Director General China Coast Guard Major General Yu Zhong, underscoring the continued commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation between both nations.

Building on the Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Law Enforcement Cooperation and Exchange signed in 2019, the meeting highlighted significant achievements in bilateral relations. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen maritime cooperation, enhance regional security, and promote the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership to new heights. The meeting laid out a comprehensive plan for 2025, which includes reciprocal high-level visits, training for mid-level law enforcement personnel, and collaborative maritime exercises. Additionally, the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation in maritime law enforcement, information sharing and environmental protection designed to enhance operational interoperability and capability.

This 2nd HLM is a testament to the strategic depth of the Pakistan-China partnership, with both organizations intent on advancing their cooperation to safeguard regional maritime security and stability.
On the sidelines of the HLM, the DG PMSA also held a meeting with Mr Liu Song, Vice President of China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC) at their headquarters. Discussions focused on ongoing cooperation for the maintenance of PMSA ships constructed by CSTC, alongside exploring further avenues for bilateral cooperation.
