Islamabad-, At the gracious invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, paid a state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
His Royal Highness received the Prime Minister of Pakistan at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. During the official talks, held in the presence of both countries’ delegations, the two sides reviewed their historic and strategic relations and discussed a wide range of issues of common interest.
Building on nearly eight decades of brotherhood, Islamic solidarity, and shared strategic interests, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif signed the “Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement.”
This landmark agreement reflects the shared commitment of both nations to:
Enhance bilateral defense cooperation.
Strengthen joint deterrence capabilities.
Contribute to peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The agreement stipulates that any aggression against either country will be considered aggression against both, reaffirming their resolve to safeguard sovereignty, security, and mutual interests.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his sincere gratitude to His Royal Highness for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He conveyed his best wishes for the continued health of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as the prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people.
In turn, His Royal Highness extended warm wishes for the well-being of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the continued progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Pakistan.
