Pakistan Launches New Feeder Shipping Service from Karachi to UAE

Karachi: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced the launch of a new feeder shipping service from Karachi Port to the United Arab Emirates, calling it an important development for Pakistan’s maritime trade and regional connectivity.

According to the minister, a regular shipping service has been initiated from Karachi Gateway Terminal to the UAE ports of Fujairah and Khor Fakkan. He said the new feeder service represents a significant step toward strengthening transshipment operations and enhancing Pakistan’s role in regional maritime logistics.

Junaid Anwar Chaudhry stated that the initiative will provide Pakistani importers and exporters with improved access to the global shipping network, while also increasing connectivity between Karachi Port and other regional ports.

He further revealed that the first feeder vessel has already arrived at Karachi Gateway Terminal, marking the operational start of the service. The minister expressed confidence that the new shipping link will help stabilize Pakistan’s supply chain and support the country’s trade during ongoing changes in regional shipping patterns.

Meanwhile, Chairman Karachi Port Trust Shahid Ahmed welcomed the development, stating that stronger maritime links with the UAE will benefit Pakistan’s trade by connecting it with the Gulf’s advanced logistics network.

Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s maritime trade. The minister praised the efforts of KGTL Chief Executive Officer Khurram Aziz for playing a key role in launching the service.
