Pakistan’s First State-of-the-Art National Forensic Agency Becomes Fully Operational in Record Time: Mohsin Naqvi.

‎Islamabad, ‎Pakistan’s first modern, state-of-the-art National Forensic Agency has become fully operational in a short period. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the agency. During the visit, he toured various facilities including the Research & Innovation Lab, Digital Forensic Lab, Narcotics Lab, FinTech Lab, and Questioned Document Lab.

‎The Interior Minister also inspected the DNA, firearms, serology, and explosives rooms. He appreciated the performance of the entire team for making the agency fully operational in such a short time.

‎Mohsin Naqvi stated that the establishment of the National Forensic Agency was a critical need of the modern era. He said the institution will significantly contribute to national security and crime control. The agency is providing state-of-the-art services that were previously unavailable with other institutions.

‎Mohsin Naqvi further stated that the Nation Forensic Agency will support all provinces and law enforcement agencies. He directed that sub-offices be established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, AJK, and Gilgit Baltistan

‎The Interior Minister added that the agency will now provide internationally standardized services and analysis within Pakistan. He also instructed that the agency’s services be widely publicized so that all institutions can benefit from them.

‎Mohsin Naqvi also visited the mock crime scene unit and interacted with ASPs undergoing training, inquiring about their training courses. He remarked that these training programs will assist officers throughout their careers.

‎Director General of the National Forensic Agency, Hasanat Rasool, briefed the Interior Minister that the first phase of the agency has been completed. In the field of digital forensics, facilities such as deepfake forensics, computer and mobile forensics, audio-video analysis, network forensics, and drone forensics are being provided.

‎Over the past year, 1,500 digital forensic cases have been reported and processed. Work on the second phase of the National Forensic Agency will begin soon, which will include the establishment of 25 specialized laboratories.

‎The Directors General of ANF, FIA, NCCIA, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
