Islamabad – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held separate meetings with Natalie Baker and Reza Amiri Moghadam, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and reviewing preparations for the upcoming second phase of the Islamabad talks.
During his meeting with the U.S. Ambassador, both sides discussed ways to enhance Pakistan–U.S. relations and exchanged views on the latest regional developments. The discussions also included a detailed review of security arrangements for the second round of the Islamabad talks. Ambassador Baker appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts in reducing regional tensions.
In a separate meeting with the Iranian Ambassador, the Interior Minister emphasized the importance of pursuing a sustainable resolution to regional tensions through diplomatic engagement and negotiations. He also briefed the envoy on his recent visit to Iran. Ambassador Amiri Moghadam acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting de-escalation in the region.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that comprehensive and foolproof security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of all foreign delegations participating in the Islamabad talks. He expressed hope for the success of the second phase, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue.
Reaffirming long-standing ties, the Interior Minister noted that Pakistan–Iran relations are rooted in decades of brotherly cooperation. He stressed that Pakistan supports resolving the Iran–U.S. conflict through dialogue, underscoring the need for a lasting solution for regional peace and stability.
Senior officials including Usman Anwar, Sohail Ashraf, Ali Nasir Rizvi, and Irfan Memon were also present during the meetings.
