Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s security forces have killed a total of 48 terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations conducted in the Miran Shah area and surrounding locations of North Waziristan District, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing stated that security forces engaged multiple terrorist hideouts during ongoing operations in the region. Following intense exchanges of fire over the past 72 hours, 21 additional terrorists were neutralized, bringing the total number of militants killed in the operations to 48.

Among those killed were four key terrorist commanders identified as Kharji Khalid Raza alias Salar, Kharji Muftoon, Kharji Musa, and Kharji Imran alias Ayan. According to ISPR, the commanders were wanted for their alleged involvement in numerous terrorist attacks, including the killing of security personnel and civilians.

Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the slain militants, who were reportedly involved in various acts of terrorism and attacks on innocent civilians.

The ISPR said sanitization operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants. It reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counter-terrorism campaign under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism and dismantling militant networks operating within the country.
