Rawalpindi- A high-level delegation from the Republic of Ghana, led by Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, visited General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, where he called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
Upon arrival at GHQ, the visiting dignitary was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and avenues for expanding bilateral defence cooperation. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military-to-military relations, with a particular focus on joint training programs, counter-terrorism cooperation, and collaboration in defence production. The Ghanaian Chief of Defence Staff praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting regional stability.
Separately, H.E. Mr. Abdul Razak Osman, National Security Coordinator of the Republic of Ghana, held meetings with senior military leadership in Islamabad.
He called on Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, at Naval Headquarters, where matters related to naval cooperation and maritime security were discussed under the framework of the Pakistan Navy.
He also met Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad, where discussions focused on air force collaboration, training exchanges, and professional military engagement under the Pakistan Air Force.
Lieutenant General William Agyapong was also present during these engagements, underscoring the broad-based nature of defence diplomacy between the two countries.
