The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has strongly condemned an attempted drone attack directed towards the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the ministry expressed Uzbekistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and stressed that any action threatening holy sites, civilians or civilian infrastructure is unacceptable.

Uzbekistan urged all sides to exercise maximum restraint, comply strictly with international law, and respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.

The ministry also reaffirmed its support for efforts to de-escalate tensions, prevent the further spread of conflict, and promote peace, security and stability across the region.
