Islamabad, A high-level meeting was convened between an inter-ministerial Afghan delegation, headed by H.E. Alhaj Noruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan, and the Pakistani delegation led by H.E. Jam Kamal Khan, Minister of Commerce of Pakistan.
The two sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on bilateral trade, transit cooperation, prevailing challenges, potential solutions, and other pertinent matters of mutual interest.
Seperate meetings between the technical teams of both sides are also expected to be held for further discussions to find proper solutions for existing challenges and boost the bilateral trade.
In addition, H.E. Sheikh Kalimurahman Fani, Deputy Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, addressed the gathering with a statement concerning the current situation of Afghan refugees and the issue of their forced repatriation. He acknowledged Pakistan’s generosity in hosting Afghan refugees for over four decades and underscored that forced deportations should not undermine this longstanding goodwill. He further appealed for a phased, dignified, and humane repatriation process that upholds the spirit of hospitality.
