ISLAMABAD, Charge d Affairs Afghanistan Sardar Ahmed Khan Shakib called on Federal Minister for States & Frontier Regions and Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Engr Amir Muqam here at his office on Friday.
Secretary SAFRON Zafar Hasan, Joint Secretary Refugees (SAFRON) Agha Waseem Ahmed, Chief Commissioner Afghan Refugees Muhammad Abbas Khan and Commissioner Afghan Refugees Shakeel Muhammad Khan Safi were also present on the occasion.
Federal Minister Engr Amir Muqam said that Pakistan deeply values our longstanding friendship and cooperation with Afghanistan particularly in addressing issues concerning Afghan refugees.
“Recognizing the humanitarian situation, Pakistan has extended the stay of POR card holders for one year, he added.
Engr Amir Muqam said that people of both brotherly countries have sacrificed a lot and restoration of peace is crucial for the good of people.
“We encourage Afghanistan for long term solutions for its citizens residing in Pakistan, focusing on priority areas of returns and ensuring their well-being and integration upon return.
Charge d Affairs of Afghanistan Sardar Ahmed Khan Shakeeb thanked the federal minister for SAFRON and the government of Pakistan for the extending POR card for one year.
He also expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for hosting Afghan refugees for the last 4 decades and more.
