The Inspector General of the National Police Service Kenya, Douglas Kanja, has reiterated the Service’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with regional law enforcement institutions through joint initiatives tailored to address evolving security challenges.
The engagement followed a high-level meeting with a Pakistani delegation led by the Commandant of the National Police Academy, Mr. Muhammad Idrees Ahmed, PSP. During the discussions, the Commandant expressed strong interest in enhancing collaboration in key areas such as advanced training programmes, capacity building to strengthen crime prevention strategies, intelligence-led policing, and overall service delivery improvements.
Inspector General Kanja welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the continued partnership and support extended to the Service. He emphasized that strategic collaborations are critical in strengthening institutional capacity, raising professional standards, and enhancing public safety across Kenya.
Also present at the meeting from the National Police Service were the Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli; the Principal Assistant to the Inspector General, Mr. Mathew Kutoh, SAIG; and the Director of Planning, Mr. Richard Lesasuiyan, AIG, among other senior officers.
The meeting highlighted a shared commitment to modern, intelligence-driven policing and reinforced the importance of partnerships in tackling emerging security threats while promoting sustainable institutional development.
