Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki. Upon his arrival at the Saudi Embassy, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador welcomed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and increasing mutual cooperation were discussed in the meeting.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Saudi Arabian government and ambassador for their full support to Pakistan in the economic and social sectors. He said that he was grateful for the participation of a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia in the Pak-Gulf Cooperation Council Anti-Narcotics Conference. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that Pakistan wanted to enhance cooperation with Saudi Arabia to combat drugs and prevent human trafficking. He said that new conditions are being imposed for obtaining passports to curb beggary and illegal immigration. He added the noose has been tightened against the beggars mafia.
Interior Minister highlighted that there is no visa for Saudi citizens for coming to Pakistan, they can come whenever they want. He also thanked the Saudi government and the ambassador for their full cooperation in the release of the innocent family implicated in the drug case. He said that Saudi Arabia provided a lot of support for the release and return of this family, and it was only due to the cooperation of the Saudi Government that 5 members of the family were released and they returned home.
The Saudi ambassador said that Saudi Arabia has very close relations with Pakistan and wants to further enhance these relations in all fields.
