Lahore, President Pakistan Muslim League (N) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in a conversation said, “Due to making reduction of 14 rupees in the electricity unit rate, the Punjab government will pay Rs. 45 billion. The Punjab government will give 700 billion rupees to the less privileged segment of society in Punjab to get themselves rid of heavy electricity bills. I know the pain and distress which my people are going through. On October 21, I talked to you at length about the electricity problem and also presented the bills about how much the electricity bills used to be in our time. Since October 21 till to date, I am feeling your anguish and pain. My mind keeps going back to 2017 when there were no signs of inflation. In 2017, bills were lower, expenses were lower and income was higher. In 2017, children used to go to school, every household used to run expenses easily and rent used to be paid. I used to hear from people that they used to make savings as well. It was a great time when vegetables were sold at Rs.10 per kilo.”

Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said, “When we took over the government then Pakistan was at the brink of a default and we fixed as well as set the economy in the right direction. We brought Pakistan among the best developing nations of the world. You can go through international newspapers which proves my statement. As soon as we took over the government in 2013, we brought the rate of US dollar at Rs. 95 and after consultation with Ishaq Dar, we took the US dollar to 104 rupees for the sake of exports. The US dollar remained at 104 rupees for 4 years consecutively, when I was toppled from office, then the US dollar remained at Rs. 104. I was removed from the office because I did not receive 10 thousand dirhams salary from my son Hassan Nawaz. That’s why I ask why I was removed from office? After that, a bill of Rs 1600 now comes to Rs 18000. I was over thrown because the Rs. 104 US dollar came to Rs. 250. I was expelled so that the parents do not send their children to school due to non-payment of fees. I was expelled and later the the price of Rs. 35 per kg flour became very expensive. There was no adequate reason to topple me. The Prime Minister of Pakistan was over thrown over a joke. I feel heartfelt grief as they committed a big crime and did injustice with the country.”

President PML-N said, “Since Shahbaz Sharif has been elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Maryam Nawaz Sharif as the Chief Minister of Punjab I am repeatedly asking them to eliminate this storm of inflation from Pakistan. All such things were done during the tenure of Imran Khan as we had said good bye to the IMF. The IMF itself said that now Pakistan will no more need it. Even the world used to admit that Pakistan has got itself rid from from the slavery of IMF. Which elements are bringing back the IMF? I’m not, neither Maryam Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif. They are those who are making tall claims by sitting in the jail. If I had been given the opportunity to serve more then the US dollar rate would have persistently remained at Rs. 104. We eliminated 18 consecutive hours of load shedding and established new power plants.”
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said, “We had chalked out a plan for the elimination of load shedding in 5 years but eradicated it within 3 years. We accomplished electricity projects in record time frame. We are grateful to China which enale us to set up power projects from CPEC. How come the poor can pay a hefty amount for the electricity bills, How come he will pay his other expenses? Will the poor spend all his salary in the payment of electricity bills? I commend Maryam Nawaz Sharif for reducing the price of wheat and bread.”

President PML-N said, “Maryam Nawaz Sharif is working day and night on housing, health, education, sanitation and other projects. May it be a ruler or an urban area of Punjab, there should be equal development everywhere in Punjab. The people should be provided facilities on soft installments to build their houses. The interest rate is 19.5 at present. In these circumstances, who will set up an industry and how will exports increase? We have been bound by the terms of the IMF. Who is the one who went abroad even for one billion US dollars? We have paid off the country’s debts and did not build motorways by begging. We build it with the help of our own resources and strength. Had the streak of 1991 continued, we would have gained the best position in the world today. We would have been in a very respectable position today if the series that has been going on since becoming an atomic power had not stopped. If we had not been expelled by conspiracy in 2017, we would have achieved a an exalted position. Please give me an answer, why? I was expelled. Who were those faces? Everyone should think over it.”
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said, “I am not aspiring for power and has served the country with a great amount of sincerity. The heart aches over what has been done to the plight of our country as it is unpardonable. The people should not be misled by such people and see who exploited them. My heart is in profound grief over the current situation in the country and I cannot express much grief and sorrow. I do not express much sorrow. Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are focusing on the public service. We have to share the burden of the people.”
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said, “I have come before you because these situations are difficult to be seen. Whosoever did this should be held accountable. It is our duty to fix the affairs of our country and provide peace to the people so that they can live a comfortable life. Shahbaz Sharif has given a good relief to the consumers in the electricity bills ranging from 1 unit up to 200 units. The people feel great distress due to hiked electricity bills in summer season. Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to give prompt relief to the people in the months of August and September. Consumers using the relief package from 1 to 500 units will get a reduction of Rs 14 per unit. Electricity rate has been reduced by Rs 14 per unit for the consumers using up to 500 units. Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reduced the expenses and relief has been given to the people by cutting the development funds.”
President PML-N said, “More relief will be given to the people in the coming days. Maryam Nawaz Sharif is working on the solar panel programme. The people will be given solar panels to reduce their electricity bills. Solar panels will be given to the middle class from 700 billion rupees. Rs. 45 billion are being spent to provide relief to the consumers of Rs. 14 per unit. I urged Shahbaz Sharif to work together with Punjab and other provinces for the provision of solar panels. I have spoken my heart out to you and will remain in contact with you in one way or the other.”
