Muzaffarabad — A Pakistan Army Mi-17 helicopter crashed during take-off near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of all personnel on board, according to the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (Inter-Services Public Relations) said the aircraft went down due to a suspected technical fault shortly after initiating take-off. Officials confirmed that there were no survivors.
Immediately after the incident, rescue and recovery teams were dispatched to the crash site and began search and recovery operations in difficult terrain.
A board of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash and determine whether technical malfunction or other factors contributed to the accident.
Senior military leadership, including the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the families of the deceased personnel.
