IG Sindh Convenes Security Review Session for Chinese Citizen Safety

Karachi, A high-level review meeting, chaired by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, was convened to discuss and reinforce security protocols for Chinese citizens. The meeting, held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, brought together senior officials, including Additional IG Operations, DIGs, Special Branch, Karachi Admin, Establishment, Headquarters, IT, SPU, CIA, and other police officers, both in-person and via video link. Participants received updates on the implementation of key decisions made during the previous meeting regarding Chinese citizen security. DIG SPU provided an overview of the committee established to review and enhance security measures, while emphasizing the necessity of conducting security audits on private security guards assigned to protect Chinese citizens. The committee proposed concrete suggestions to bolster security, including joint training exercises, a dedicated hotline, and strict adherence to security SOPs. IG Sindh directed project owners/sponsors to utilize Sindh Police’s online verification service for security clearance and mandated surprise visits by SSPs to review security arrangements.
