Islamabad, Federal Minister for Interior, Rana Sanaullah Khan chaired NACTA’s 4th Board of Governors’ meeting here today on 07th August, 2023 at Islamabad. During his opening remarks, the honorable Minister said; “It is very encouraging that the NACTA has now become a fully functional organization, which shows our commitment towards countering the terrorism”, he added. The NACTA has been re-vamped and recognized. It is playing its statutory coordination role more effectively. The Minister explained that the NACTA is not an operational organization according to the NACTA Act 2013. It makes policies and strategies which are implemented by the provincial CTDs and other relevant stakeholders.

Earlier, the National Coordinator NACTA, IGP Muhammad Tahir Rai, Hilal-i-Shujaat & Sitara-i-Imtiaz, warmly welcomed Chairman and Members of the Board. Mr. Rai expressed his pleasure by mentioning that the honorable Minister is the only Chairman of the Board who has consecutively chaired two BoG meetings of NACTA, and ensured the statutory requirement of holding it once in a year. It shows interest of Government in running affairs of the NACTA.

Mr. Tahir Rai, informed the Board that revamping of the NACTA has been undertaken in the light of the decision of the Board in its last meeting, and that professional staff, including Analysts, Data Scientists, Technical Officers, Linguists, etc. have been recruited. Specialist Consultants have been hired in fields of Intelligence Analytics, Counter Terrorism Capacity Building and Communication Strategy Implementation to achieve optimum performance levels.
