Islamabad: Interior Minister visited the National Police Academy and presided over a high-level meeting in the committee room regarding the restructuring of the academy.
For the first time in history, a plan has been prepared to upgrade the National Police Academy along modern lines. It has been decided to develop the National Police Academy on the model of the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that an Elite Force Training School will also be established within the academy.
Keeping in view the demands of the modern era, it has been decided to establish a Technical Training Center, as well as indoor and outdoor firing ranges. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also directed that the parade ground be expanded and beautified.
During the meeting, Interior Minister was briefed on the National Police Academy’s upgrade plan. Mohsin Naqvi directed that the construction of the residential block for under-training officers should be started on priority basis. He also directed that the master plan should be resubmitted after incorporating the necessary modifications. During the meeting, it was decided that the restructuring project of the National Police Academy will be implemented in phases.
Interior Minister highlighted that our goal is to transform the National Police Academy into an international standard institution, where officers from abroad will also come for training. He instructed the phase wise implementation of the National Police Academy’s upgradation plan.
During the meeting, Commandant National Police Academy, Muhammad Idrees Ahmed, briefed regarding the master plan for the restructuring of the NPA. The meeting was attended by the Commandant of the National Police Academy, the Chairman of the CDA, the IG Islamabad, the DIG Islamabad, and other relevant officials.
