Rawalpindi — A senior Pakistani delegation led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, has concluded a three-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a key meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and also engaged in separate discussions with senior Iranian leadership, including Speaker of the National Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Commander of the Khatam-ul-Anbiya Headquarters Ali Abdollahi.
The talks focused on the regional security landscape, ongoing diplomatic developments, and coordinated efforts to promote long-term peace and stability in the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and diplomatic engagement for resolving outstanding regional issues.
The Pakistani side reiterated its commitment to peaceful coexistence and constructive engagement, highlighting the need for sustained diplomatic efforts to address regional challenges. Field Marshal Asim Munir also conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership, including the President and Prime Minister, while expressing appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Iranian government and people.
ISPR stated that the visit reflects Pakistan’s continued resolve to strengthen bilateral relations with Iran and to support initiatives aimed at fostering peace, stability, and prosperity in the wider region, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
