ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye have strongly condemned the ongoing hostile attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that reportedly resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, as well as damage to civilian infrastructure and facilities.

In a joint statement issued on October 11, the four countries, collectively referred to as the R4 Group, described the attacks as a blatant violation of international law and expressed serious concern over the threats posed to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and stability.

The statement emphasized that the attacks constituted a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, directly threatening its security, stability and the safety of civilians. It further described the escalation as dangerous and stressed that such actions could not be justified or accepted under any pretext.

The R4 Group reaffirmed its full solidarity with and support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including its right to take all legitimate measures and steps to counter the attacks, deter the sources of threats and prevent their recurrence.

According to the joint statement, these measures are intended to safeguard Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity and protect the lives and safety of its citizens and residents. The group stressed that any such measures should be consistent with the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

The four countries also held the Houthi militia fully responsible for the consequences of the attacks and any resulting repercussions that could undermine regional and international peace and security.

The R4 Group called for the immediate and unconditional cessation of all attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the need to prevent further escalation and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
