WASHINGTON, Pakistan and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral counterterrorism cooperation during the fourth round of the Pakistan-U.S. Counterterrorism Dialogue, held in Washington, D.C., on August 4.

The dialogue was co-chaired by U.S. Coordinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Gregory LoGerfo and Pakistan’s Special Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nabeel Munir.

According to a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides underscored their shared interest in advancing the Pakistan-U.S. counterterrorism partnership and reiterated their determination to jointly confront terrorism.

During the talks, both delegations exchanged assessments of the evolving terrorist threat environment, explored opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, and discussed measures to strengthen border security and disrupt terrorist facilitation networks.

Pakistan and the United States reaffirmed their joint resolve to combat terrorist organizations that threaten the security of their citizens and regional stability, including ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), al-Qaida (AQ), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its affiliates.

The two governments pledged to sustain close counterterrorism collaboration to enhance the safety and security of both countries as part of a broader vision for regional peace, prosperity, and stability, the joint statement said.
