Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Thursday, during which the two leaders discussed regional security and bilateral cooperation, with the Prime Minister strongly condemning the recent Houthi militia attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
During the cordial conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the attacks, describing them as “dastardly” and “totally unacceptable.” He said such actions constitute a clear violation of international law, threaten freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, and undermine regional peace, security, and stability.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stating that he, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the entire Pakistani nation, stands firmly and resolutely with the Saudi leadership and the people of Saudi Arabia at this critical time.
He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and prosperity, emphasizing that Islamabad remains committed to standing by Riyadh in the face of security challenges.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also assured Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Pakistan would continue to work closely with Saudi Arabia and the international community to promote peace, security, and stability, while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of lawful maritime commerce through the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and the wider region.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support and praised the close fraternal and strategic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the strong relationship shared by the two countries.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding brotherly partnership with the Kingdom.
