SAPM Haroon Akhtar Holds Talks with Kuwait Ambassador on Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Islamabad – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, met with the Ambassador of Kuwait to Pakistan, Nasser Abdulrahman Jassim Al-Mutairi, to discuss bilateral relations and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Secretary for Industries and Production Capt(r) Saif Anjum, Secretary Commerce and Trade Jawad Paul, and Director General National Logistics Corporation (NLC), Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao.

During the discussion, Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that Kuwait is a brotherly nation and that Pakistan enjoys strong and longstanding relations with it. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan is working tirelessly to promote peace in the region amid challenging geopolitical circumstances.

He noted that special committees have been established to boost food exports to Gulf countries and emphasized Pakistan’s desire to expand business-to-business linkages and explore new investment opportunities with Kuwait. He further described Pakistan as a vast market rich in natural resources and scenic beauty, expressing the country’s commitment to strengthening trade, investment, and export relations.

Ambassador Nasser Al-Mutairi expressed gratitude for the support of the Pakistani people during difficult times and reaffirmed Kuwait’s interest in enhancing collaboration in sectors such as food, information technology, and trade.

Secretary Industries Saif Anjum highlighted opportunities for cooperation in mobile device manufacturing and other industrial sectors, while DG NLC Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao emphasized expanding partnerships in logistics, cargo, and transportation.

The meeting concluded with both sides affirming their commitment to deepening bilateral ties and pursuing new avenues for mutual cooperation.
