NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Welcomes Bangladeshi Higher Education Delegation; Urges Enhanced Academic Cooperation and Parliamentary Ties

Islamabad, Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, met with a delegation from the Higher Education sector of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at the Parliament House, today. Welcoming the distinguished delegation to the National Assembly, the Speaker highlighted the importance Pakistan attaches to its fraternal relations with Bangladesh and reaffirmed the commitment to fostering closer cooperation through parliamentary engagement, academic collaboration, and people-to-people contacts.

During the meeting, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored the role of the National Assembly as the Supreme Body of representative democracy in Pakistan and highlighted its continued efforts to promote democratic governance, transparency, inclusiveness, and public participation in the legislative process.

NA Speaker also reflected on the shared parliamentary and constitutional history of Pakistan and Bangladesh noting that this common historical experience serves as an important source of reflection and learning for both nations. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a forward-looking approach based on mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and enhanced cooperation.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations with Bangladesh through increased institutional exchanges, educational partnerships, and parliamentary cooperation. He noted that such interactions contribute significantly to building mutual understanding and promoting regional harmony.

The members of the Bangladeshi delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to them and commended Pakistan’s democratic institutions and parliamentary traditions. They acknowledged the significance of strengthening academic and parliamentary linkages between the two countries and expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation would contribute positively to mutual understanding and shared development goals.

The delegation further appreciated the opportunity to engage with Pakistan’s parliamentary leadership and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, educational collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their commitment to deepening cooperation and promoting friendly relations for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two brotherly countries.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training.

The delegation also witnessed the proceedings of the Budget Session 2026-27 of the National Assembly.
