ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have jointly condemned Israel’s declared rejection of the Road Map for implementing US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and its rejection of Palestinian statehood.

In a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of the eight Islamic countries, they said Israel’s position amounted to a direct repudiation of the Comprehensive Plan, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and threatened to undermine international efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.

The ministers said Israel’s rejection of the Road Map and Palestinian statehood had placed responsibility on Israel for obstructing efforts to establish peace in Gaza and throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

They noted that the Road Map had been accepted by Palestinian factions and was the outcome of extensive efforts by mediators, including Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the United States, as well as the High Representative of Gaza and the Board of Peace.

According to the statement, the Road Map provides for the decommissioning of weapons alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces, deployment of an International Stabilization Force, transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and reconstruction of Gaza under the Comprehensive Plan.

The eight countries warned that Israel’s rejection of the Road Map constituted an explicit refusal to implement the Comprehensive Plan and risked derailing efforts led by President Trump to end the Gaza war and create conditions for lasting peace.

They stressed the importance of continued and active US engagement to ensure Israel fully complies with its commitments and the arrangements envisaged under the Comprehensive Plan and Road Map.

The ministers also called for measures to prevent further obstruction of the plan’s implementation and held Israel directly and fully responsible for any consequences resulting from continued rejection, obstruction, delay or non-compliance.

They warned that such actions could lead to further deterioration of the situation on the ground and disrupt efforts to end the war in Gaza.

The foreign ministers reaffirmed the urgent need for the full and immediate implementation of the Comprehensive Plan to address the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, ensure security and stability, facilitate reconstruction and recovery, and advance a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood under international law.

The eight countries categorically rejected any attempt to deny or prevent Palestinian statehood through unilateral actions.

They reiterated that a just, lasting and comprehensive peace could only be achieved through the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

They warned that any effort to deny Palestinian statehood would directly undermine prospects for peace, security and stability across the region.

The ministers also underscored the continued role of the Board of Peace and urged all parties to support its efforts to implement the Road Map and advance the second phase of President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan.

They called on the Board of Peace, with active support and engagement from the United States, to take immediate and concrete measures within its mandate to protect the integrity of the Comprehensive Plan and prevent any party from obstructing its implementation.
