MUZAFFARABAD: The Home Department of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir has issued an important notification declaring the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee a proscribed organization under the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Terrorism Act, 2014.

According to the notification, organizations operating under the names Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, Jammu Kashmir Action Committee, Joint Awami Action Committee, and Awami Action Committee have been included in the First Schedule of proscribed organizations.

The notification states that the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has approved the designation of the organization as a proscribed entity. As a result, the organization has been declared proscribed under Section 12 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Terrorism Act, 2014. The notification also includes all alternative names used by the organization.

The Home Department stated that legal action will be taken against the proscribed organization in accordance with the law.

Copies of the notification have been sent to all ministers, the Federal Ministry of Interior, and other relevant institutions. The document has also been forwarded to the President, Prime Minister, Chief Secretary, and departmental secretaries of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, all Deputy Commissioners, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, and the administrations and police authorities of Muzaffarabad, Poonch, and Mirpur divisions have been directed to implement the notification.

The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir reiterated its commitment to ensuring peace, the rule of law, and public safety across the state, emphasizing that no organization will be allowed to endanger public security, social harmony, or the constitutional order of the state.
