Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi has said that Pakistan and China remain trusted partners and close friends, maintaining regular and close communication on issues of mutual concern and shared interest.

In a statement, the spokesperson rejected unnecessary speculation regarding contacts between the two countries, stating that any fabrication of facts in this regard was unwarranted. He emphasized that Islamabad and Beijing continue to remain in close coordination through diplomatic channels.

Andrabi said that during the recent telephone conversation between Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a wide range of issues were discussed. These included regional developments, particularly the situation in Afghanistan.
The spokesperson noted that this aspect of the conversation had already been confirmed during his weekly press briefing last Thursday.

He further stated that consultations were also held during the recent visit of Yue Xiaoyong, where discussions focused on matters relating to regional peace and stability, including developments in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan and China continue to engage in regular diplomatic consultations to address regional challenges and promote peace and stability in the region.
