Pakistan’s security agencies have reportedly arrested three individuals accused of involvement in espionage activities linked to India’s intelligence network. According to sources, the suspects were operating on behalf of India’s external intelligence agency, commonly referred to as RAW.

The arrested individuals belong to Narowal, Bahawalpur, and Neelum district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities say the suspects were targeted through social media platforms, where they were allegedly lured by individuals posing as women and offered financial incentives in exchange for access to sensitive information.

Investigations revealed that the accused received payments through multiple channels, including EasyPaisa, cryptocurrency wallets, and conventional bank accounts. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to maintaining continuous contact with operatives associated with the foreign intelligence agency via online platforms.

Legal proceedings were initiated under the Official Secrets Act, and following due process, the accused have been sentenced, according to official sources.

Defense analysts suggest that such tactics—commonly known as honey trapping and financial inducement—are increasingly being used to exploit unsuspecting individuals for intelligence purposes. They also pointed out that similar incidents in the past have exposed attempts by foreign operatives to gain access to sensitive information within Pakistan.

Experts have urged the public to exercise caution while using social media and to remain aware of potential threats posed by hostile intelligence networks.
