Islamabad, A high-level delegation from the State of Qatar, led by Brigadier Hamad Mohamed Al-Muraikhi, Assistant Director, Forensic Laboratory Department, visited the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Headquarters, Islamabad.
The visiting delegation was welcomed by Director General ANF, Major General Abdul Moeed HI(M), along with senior officers of ANF at the Headquarters. DG ANF highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation in counter-narcotics efforts and appreciated Qatar’s proactive engagement in this critical domain. The delegation consisted of experts from Qatar’s forensic and law enforcement departments.
Comprehensive briefing was given to delegation, which was followed by bilateral discussions focusing on enhanced cooperation in counter-narcotics operations, forensic collaboration, intelligence sharing, and capacity building. Both sides reaffirmed the shared resolve to combat the growing challenge of drug abuse. It was agreed that drug menace continues to adversely affect societies by exploiting vulnerable populations, particularly the youth. The discussions also emphasized coordinated action against drug trafficking organizations, misusing regional and transnational routes for illicit drug movement.
The visit highlighted the growing coordination between Pakistan and Qatar throughout 2025, particularly after the GCC Conference held in April 2025. It reaffirmed the strong bond between the two brotherly Muslim countries. United by a common concern to eliminate the curse of drug abuse and trafficking, both sides reiterated their commitment to a whole-of-nation approach and for collective actions at regional and global forums.
