UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Pays First Official Visit to Pakistan

Islamabad, At the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, paid an official visit to Pakistan, marking his first visit to the country in his capacity as UAE President.

The UAE President was accorded a warm and ceremonial welcome on arrival, with Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets escorting the royal aircraft as it entered Pakistani airspace. At Nur Khan Airbase, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received His Highness alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Senior cabinet members and government officials were also present.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held wide-ranging talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The two leaders reviewed progress in ongoing areas of cooperation and explored new avenues to deepen bilateral engagement.

Both sides underscored the importance of expanding collaboration in economic cooperation, investment, energy, infrastructure development, information technology, and emerging technologies, as well as strengthening people-to-people exchanges. They agreed that bilateral trade holds significant untapped potential and expressed their commitment to enhancing commercial ties for mutually beneficial growth.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments and reaffirmed their shared resolve to continue close coordination on matters of mutual interest. Expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, they reiterated their determination to work together to advance the shared objectives of peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The visit of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was seen as a strong reflection of the deep-rooted brotherly ties, mutual respect, and enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, and is expected to further consolidate and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
