Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly rejected a report aired by CBS News regarding the alleged presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase, calling the claims “misleading, speculative, and sensationalized.”

In an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Office of the Spokesperson, Pakistan stated that such narratives appear aimed at undermining ongoing regional peace and stability efforts.

According to the Foreign Office, following the ceasefire and during the initial phase of the Islamabad Talks, several aircraft from both Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan to facilitate the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff associated with the dialogue process. Some aircraft and support personnel remained temporarily in the country in anticipation of future rounds of talks.

The statement further clarified that although formal negotiations have yet to resume, senior-level diplomatic engagements have continued. In this context, visits by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad were facilitated under existing logistical and administrative arrangements.
Pakistan categorically denied allegations linking the Iranian aircraft currently stationed in Pakistan to any military contingency or preservation arrangement, describing such assertions as baseless and detached from factual reality.

The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan has consistently acted as an impartial, constructive, and responsible facilitator supporting dialogue and de-escalation in the region. It added that Pakistan has extended routine logistical and administrative support where necessary while maintaining transparency and regular communication with all relevant stakeholders.

Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all sincere efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, reducing tensions, and advancing regional and global peace, stability, and security.
