ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with China’s Vice Minister of Public Security Gao Qi, during which the two sides discussed Pakistan-China bilateral relations and joint initiatives in counterterrorism and counter-narcotics.

The meeting also focused on enhancing cooperation in police training exchange programmes as well as the provision and use of modern technology and equipment for law enforcement.

The two sides agreed that China would cooperate with Pakistan in establishing a modern law enforcement centre in the country.

Chinese Vice Minister Gao Qi appreciated Pakistan’s sacrifices and commitment in the fight against terrorism.

Mohsin Naqvi said the proposed law enforcement centre would become another prominent symbol of the friendship between Pakistan and China.

He said Chinese AI-based technologies and modern equipment could provide significant assistance in addressing emerging security challenges.

The interior minister said Pakistan wanted to further expand cooperation with China in the field of internal security and strengthen institutional collaboration between the two countries.
